How to Find a Certified Translator on ATIA Website | Doc.Translate Canada & UK Chinese-to-English Certified Translation
Share
If you need a certified translation in Canada, one of the best places to start is the provincial associations under the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC), such as the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Alberta (ATIA), Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO) and the Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia (STIBC). But how do you actually find a qualified translator on their websites? Here is a quick guide, with ATIA website and Chinese to English translator as an example.
1. Visit the ATIA Directory
Go to the ATIA Directory and Click Search for a Professional.

2. Choose Your Language Pair and Direction of Translation, Membership Category and Membership Tier
If you need a document translated from Chinese into English, select: Chinese → English, Translator and Certified, and click Search. An important note here, only certified members can deliver certified translation, and associate members cannot.

3. Check the Translator's Profile
All the certified translators will be displayed. Take a look at the translators' profile, and ask for quotes and turnaround times from several translators before deciding on one to go with.
